Juan Vidal won the L'Oreal award for best collection at Madrid Fashion Week (MBFWM) for the fourth time. At the 71st Fall-Winter 2020-2021 edition of the MBFWM, he presented 'Barbara', a collection inspired by British romance bestselling author Barbara Cartland.

Long coats, vintage jackets, satin blouses and skirts, padded anoraks. The color range follows the life cycle of a woman in accordance with romantic stereotypes: from pale pink to rose ash to garnet. Also black and white. Teddy bears and childishly naive earrings from the 1930s complete the sought-after understated femininity.

"The collection invites us to recall delicacy, tenderness, softness, childhood, nostalgia and other symbolic elements associated with femininity as invisible weapons capable of both caressing and scratching you," says Juan Vidal. And yet everything ends like in Barbara's novels, with a happy ending.
