Karl Lagerfeld's creativity still haunts Paris and once again took over Fashion Week. In particular - Chloé's catwalk (the designer was a creative director of the fashion house for more than two decates during the 70's and 80's years of the last century) and the brand's new designs for the autumn-winter 2024 season are strongly inspired by his work in the 70s. The new collection marks the debut of Chemena Kamali, who succeeded Gabriela Hirst as a creative director of the iconic French label. With background at Chloé herself (Kamaly began her career there, working under then-creative director Phoebe Philo and later Claire White Keller), the designer's debut is "an homage to the late ’70s Karl years, especially those between 1977 and 1979,” Kamali revealed for Vogue. “In 1977, he did this collection with re-embroidered lace and broderie anglaise—his ‘Musketeers’ collection.”, she added.

The result is pure fashion poetry – mini and maxi dresses in sheer lace and layers of ethereal muslin, capes in shiny coated fabrics and wool, lace leotards and flowing blouses, gold belts with the Chloé logo, and over-the-knee leather boots. In addition Kamali presented wide leg jeans, colorful aviator sunglasses, furry vests and coats, and big velvet hair tiaras. The palette flows effortlessly from cream and black to peach, sky blue and khaki. "It’s very much about an intuitive way of dressing, about lightness, movement, fluidity and emotion. I also, love the power of nostalgia; where you go backwards, you go forwards" Kamali told Vogue.
