Ankle-length pants and long, sleeveless coats. A look completely dominated by multicolored geometric prints, precious stones and crystals over everything. These are Prada's extravagant designs for season Fall-Winter 2012-2013. It is this exact collection that Elisa Nalin defines as a "super favorite" among all the others of the last few seasons. Elisa is a stylist, fashion editor, fashion consultant and a freelance designer. But above all, she is known for her extravagant personal style, which sets her apart wherever she appears. Because she has a specific sense of color, which helps her to elegantly combine completely incompatible shades. In addition, she has the right shoes for every color and every combination – because she owns thousands of pairs. From ultra high Christian Louboutins to completely white sneakers. This is Elisa - an artist and a true fashion geek.
ELISA in Wonderland
Elisa Nalin lives in the land of fashion, no matter where she is in the world. She was born in Verona but moved to Milan to study fashion design at the Instituto Europeo del Design. As soon as she graduated, she started working at Costume National. After two years, she left the Italian fashion house to join Samsonite as head designer of the brand's footwear line. Responsible for the creation of both the men's and women's collections, Elisa immersed herself fully in the world of shoes and developed a true obsession with the subject - an obsession that continues to this day.
"I always knew I wanted to work in fashion. I originally wanted to be a designer and that's why I joined Costume National and then Samsonite. However, over time I became interested in styling… I decided to start doing just that after my first visit to London and Paris Fashion Weeks, where everyone assumed I was a stylist because of my rather extravagant look from that period”, says Nalin about the beginning of her career in an interview with Sportmax. "I got terribly bored with Milan and decided to move to Paris and start a career purely as a stylist," she added in an interview with the Telegraph.
Once she has found the activity that makes her truly happy, Elisa embarks on a wide variety of projects with enthusiasm and desire. As a freelance stylist, she has collaborated with magazines such as Dazed & Confused, I-D, Vogue Japan, Harper's Bazaar Japan, as well as the French and Italian editions of Glamour. She also acts as a fashion consultant for various fashion houses as well as fashion editor for Crash Magazine. Elisa enjoys a remarkable portfolio that includes styling campaigns for brands such as La Perla, Morgan, Sessun and Benetton. She told the Telegraph that she believes many fashion houses trust her because of her "very specific sense of color and very personal sense of style".
ELISA in the mirror world
A personal sense of style takes Elisa to unexpected territories. "I really enjoy mixing unexpected elements ... stripes and florals, polka dots and tartan - and finally turning it all into a good-looking composition," she told the website Theselby.com. The extravagant stylist is a true experimenter, gifted with super power – the gift to dominate any palette and subjugate any texture to her will. She is able to stylishly combine in one look a coat with a voluminous leopard collar, a printed shirt, a knitted grass green sweater and a shiny pleated skirt in gold. Probably tasteless and too much on anyone else, on her such a combination looks fun, fresh and unique. Optimism and creativity - this is the message that Elisa's wardrobe screams. It is no coincidence that she defines her style to the Telegraph as "happy, colorful, unexpected, but always elegant. I love playing with clothes and I'm not afraid of fashion mistakes", says the stylist. With her extravagant looks, she not only earns constant job offers, but also popularity, as she inevitably attracts the attention of photographers, bloggers and journalists.
In 2008 she poses for French Vogue in front of famous blogger Garance Dore's lens with her stunning shoe collection. The thousands of pairs sparkle in all sorts of colors and are distinguished by their various prints, patterns and decorations. Among them there are also vintage models discovered by the Italian in French antique markets, which she visits as often as as she could. From there she also gets unique colorful clothes and objects for interior decoration. Elisa finds inspiration for her non-standard visions and for her work from various sources - from the colors of nature, from photographs and old films, from passers-by on the streets. "I admire the style of people who have their own point of view. Those who do not follow fashion trends, but their own taste”.
